Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Naperville Community Unit School District 203. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure and stable computer network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and implement network infrastructure, including switches, routers, servers, and firewalls.
Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
Install and support new systems and technologies, including network access control, digital signage, and cloud-based services.
Maintain safe and secure data centers, and provide environmental monitoring.
Install, monitor, and maintain networking tools, including network device management servers and network monitoring servers.
Maintain Microsoft Active Directory, user accounts, file shares, and network printers.
Support district applications, including email, anti-virus, and server-based applications.
Conduct wireless site surveys to ensure wireless coverage for students, staff, and guests.
Create and maintain network documentation, including operational procedures.
Coordinate installation and support of leased lines with vendor contractors.
Provide 3rd level end-user technical support for network-related issues.
Monitor and generate metrics on network traffic and performance.

Requirements:

Formal education in technology or a related field.
Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent IT experience and/or certifications.
A PLUS, NETWORK PLUS, Juniper/CISCO, or MICROSOFT Certified Professional.
Minimum 3 years of experience in supporting servers, network routers, wireless, and virtual servers in a Windows environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Terms of Employment:

12 Month/260 Days. Salary and fringe benefits established annually by the Board of Education.

Starting Salary: $31.00 hourly or higher commensurate with equivalent work experience.
