Job Title: Media Clerk

Join Gwinnett County Public Schools as a Media Clerk and play a vital role in supporting the school media program. As a key member of the team, you will provide instructional support to the local school media center, ensuring a quality media program that provides resources, facilities, and services to all areas of the instructional program.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide instructional support to the local school media center, assisting patrons with media center activities and technologies.
  • Maintain electronic records in the online catalog, shelve and maintain correct order of materials, and assist with the inventory of the media center collection and equipment.
  • Perform clerical duties to support the school media program, including creating and submitting maintenance requests for items managed by the media center.
  • Assist staff and students reserving media center space, equipment, or resources, and ensure the media center is organized and orderly for optimal accessibility of resources.
  • Attend local and district professional learning opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices and technologies.
Requirements:
  • Parapro Educator certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and passed the Praxis Parapro Assessment (prior to March 1, 2007) or the GACE Parapro Assessment required.
  • Experience working with basic computers and technology required; experience with general productivity software such as a word processor preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development, strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational and clerical skills, and ability to work and communicate with students, staff, and the community.
Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
