Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pharmacist to join our team at Variety Care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Medication Management: Prepare and dispense prescribed medications to medical practitioners and patients, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Clinical Guidance: Counsel healthcare providers and patients on medication interactions, indications, dosages, and potential side effects.
  3. Therapeutic Substitution: Make informed decisions regarding generic and therapeutic substitution of medications, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  4. Education and Training: Provide training and guidance to pharmacy support personnel, monitoring their performance and ensuring high-quality care.
  5. Inventory Management: Oversee the acquisition and distribution of medications to various clinics, offices, and sites, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  6. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain effective storage and record-keeping systems to ensure the safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
  7. Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrate strong leadership skills, working collaboratively with staff to achieve the goals of Variety Care's Patient-Centered Medical Home initiative, which emphasizes safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
  8. Personal Qualities: Embodies the strength of personal character, displaying high moral and ethical conduct, integrity, adaptability, and sound judgment, while serving as a leader in the department and community.
Requirements
  1. Education: Pharm.D. / Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  2. Licensure: Must be licensed and in good standing with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
  3. Customer Service: Strong commitment to customer service and willingness to provide clinical services.
  4. Technical Skills: Experience with ComputerRx system and knowledge of related certification and accreditation requirements.
  5. Leadership and Supervision: Experience training and supervising assigned staff, maintaining quality, infection control, and safety standards.
  6. Adaptability: Ability to work with multiple demands and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Retail Pharmacy Experience: Retail pharmacy experience preferred.
Physical Demands
  1. Lifting: Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
  2. Mobility: Able to walk, bend, lift, and remain on feet for extended periods.
