We are seeking a qualified Nutritionist to support our WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Program, specifically for clients in the Buffalo area. This role can be filled on a full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Participant-Centered Nutrition Services (PCNS) via phone or in-person consultations
  • Assist participants with online nutrition education resources
  • Conduct nutritional assessments to determine eligibility and nutrition risk
  • Prescribe and manage food packages for participants
  • Document services provided, including referrals and follow-ups
  • Review and approve formula requests in collaboration with healthcare providers
  • Identify high-risk participants and develop care plans to ensure continuity of care
  • Facilitate nutrition education, including breastfeeding support tailored to participant needs
  • Conduct breastfeeding assessments and provide relevant counseling
  • Refer participants to additional health and social services as needed
  • Monitor and document participant progress towards health improvement
  • Ensure efficient clinic operations and service delivery
  • Complete required training and maintain continuing education credits
  • Assist in the training of new staff members
  • Provide clinic supervision in the absence of leadership
  • Travel to various sites as necessary, transporting required equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN)
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Nutrition
  • Basic computer skills
  • Reliable transportation for travel to various WIC sites
  • Access to internet for remote work
