We are seeking a skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home, a premier skilled nursing facility located in Erie County, New York.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and current Registered Dietician Certification with the NYS Department of Education.

The Registered Dietitian will be responsible for assessing the nutritional status of patients and recommending the appropriate nutrition therapy as it pertains to the patients' nutritional needs.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting the dietary staff in creating high quality meals and delivering a meaningful dining experience for clients in a long term skilled nursing facility.

The job requires four days on site and will allow for one day remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nutritional assessments, develop and implement patient specific care plans, and assist in recommending nutrition care plans to medical staff for review and consideration.
  • Assist in recommending therapeutic diet modifications and/or supplemental feedings to physicians for patients, and ensure accuracy of diet order received by checking against physician's order.
  • Provide nutritional guidance and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Assist with changes to patient's menu, including patient food preferences, and the development of standardized recipes.
  • Prepare, present, and conduct individual and group education classes, as needed.
  • Develop and utilize effective lines of communication regarding nutrition information within the facility by coordinating with an interdisciplinary team on a daily basis to provide quality care to residents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Current Registered Dietician Certification with the NYS Department of Education.
