We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Community Support Program team at Thrive Behavioral Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the availability of pertinent health information within consumer behavioral health records, enhancing the quality of care.
Key Responsibilities- Review patient records to determine the status of pertinent health information.
- Collaborate with internal and external providers to obtain pertinent health information.
- Update client medication lists and enter health information into the electronic health record.
- Work with Nurses and Prescribers to obtain prior authorizations for medications and process medication refill requests.
- Maintain nursing rooms with adequate supplies and assist in taking client vital signs when needed.
- Communicate with behavioral health teams to ensure client follow-through with pertinent healthcare.
- Provide coverage for primary care practice when needed and coordinate and data-enter lab reports.
- Print patient current medication lists, review with patients prior to appointments, and confirm client appointments as assigned.
- High school diploma and two years' experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good typing skills, spelling, and grammar, as well as excellent communication skills.
- General computer experience and certification as a Medical Assistant.
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain necessary transportation.
The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, talking or hearing, tasting or smelling. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
