Job Summary

We are seeking an Editorial Assistant to support our editors in acquiring and publishing business and economics books. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in book publishing, excellent writing and analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and evaluate book proposals and manuscripts
  • Assist in the development of book concepts and proposals
  • Coordinate with authors, agents, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate communication
  • Prepare and edit book materials, including cover copy and catalog descriptions
  • Assist in the preparation of title fact sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Coordinate with the contracts department to ensure accurate and timely contract administration
  • Transmit manuscripts and other materials to authors and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in book publishing, preferably in a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
