Position Overview

The Billing Operations Team Lead plays a crucial role in addressing un-billable claims, as well as managing issues related to claim denials and underpayments. This position utilizes advanced billing software and requires a keen ability to scrutinize denials for discrepancies while comprehending group plan documents and benefits language to effectively appeal claim denials.

Key Responsibilities

+ Conducts thorough analysis of un-billable accounts to ascertain the reasons behind their status. Identifies underlying causes, formulates corrective measures, and resolves associated issues to facilitate the release of claims for billing.

+ Engages with clients, sales teams, or other internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and determines the appropriate correspondence to dispatch.

+ Evaluates responses to information requests to ensure the completeness and appropriateness of the information provided for accurate claim filing.

+ Updates and codes the system as required.

+ Manages specialized processes for accounts lacking essential billing information. Investigates multiple systems and reviews historical data to retrieve missing details.

+ Recognizes patterns and devises strategies to mitigate billing exceptions.

+ Provides assistance as needed for related tasks and special projects.

+ Accepts additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Required

+ High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

+ 5-7 years of pertinent experience in a healthcare billing, admissions, or customer service setting.

+ Proficient in 10-key and alpha/numeric data entry.

+ Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with a general understanding of Internet usage for business purposes.

+ Employment conditions include successful completion of a pre-employment process, which encompasses a criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification.

Physical Requirements

+ Capability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.

+ Majority of work is conducted in a desk or cubicle environment.

Additional Information

+ Willingness to work shifts and overtime is essential.

+ Travel is rarely required.
