Accounting Manager Job Description

Zero-Max Inc is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency in our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly close process, delivering timely and accurate financial results.
  • Prepare the financial package and associated balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage the annual financial audit in coordination with our audit firm.
  • Lead the update of material, labor, and overall standards annually.
  • Oversee entry of financial source data and review ERP system financial, accounting, and operation reports to identify areas of opportunity and initiate corrective measures.
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, development, and evaluation of direct reports.
Requirements:
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, commission reports, and accounting laws and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to effectively present information to top management.
  • Ability to effectively work cross-functionally with a desire to proactively figure things out.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to manage, train, and motivate employees, as well as delegate effectively.
  • Project management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of general accounting experience; or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A CPA/CMA is a plus.
  • Experience leading the month-end close process is also a must.
  • A cost accounting background in manufacturing with experience in ERP systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Epicor software is highly desirable.
