We are seeking a Senior Superintendent to oversee exceptional, high-end residential construction projects. This role provides an opportunity to lead teams committed to the utmost standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Senior Superintendent, you will serve as the on-site construction manager, responsible for executing distinctive architectural designs. Your duties will include:
- Ensuring all work is conducted safely, adhering to plans and specifications, and complying with local building regulations.
- Resolving daily constructability issues.
- Maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborating with the project manager to develop and manage the project timeline using MS Project; assisting in the creation of estimates during the preconstruction phase.
- Keeping accurate records of plans, specifications, as-builts, and other essential documentation.
- Overseeing subcontractors and all related tasks (e.g., scheduling, performance evaluation, safety compliance, submittal review, shop drawings, RFIs).
- Managing the entire field crew and optimizing supplier relationships while ensuring open and professional communication.
- Conducting daily site inspections and maintaining a job log of all necessary information (e.g., personnel, owner visits, inspectors, architects, hazard identification and mitigation, weather conditions, near misses).
- Representing Dowbuilt professionally with clients, architects, owner's representatives, project managers, subcontractors, management, field staff, and community representatives.
- Coordinating the delivery, handling, storage, and placement of materials (with support from foremen).
- Training and directing field crew members and conducting performance assessments.
- Ensuring job site security, safeguarding all personnel, tools, and materials.
To thrive as a Senior Superintendent at Dowbuilt, you will need:
- A minimum of 15 years of superintendent experience, including at least 5 years in high-end, custom residential projects.
- Experience collaborating with architects and designers to navigate design details and constructability challenges.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
- Journeyman-level carpentry skills.
- Strong communication, team-building, and mentoring abilities.
- Extensive technical knowledge of building practices and experience with both traditional and modern materials and methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
- Familiarity with Sage 300 CRE is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
