Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Superintendent to oversee exceptional, luxury residential developments. Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Superintendent, you will act as the on-site construction leader, responsible for executing distinctive architectural designs. Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring that all work is conducted safely, adhering to plans and specifications, and complying with local building regulations.
  • Resolving constructability issues on a daily basis.
  • Overseeing quality control throughout the project duration.
  • Collaborating with the project manager to create and manage the project timeline using MS Project; assisting in the estimation process during the preconstruction phase.
  • Maintaining all necessary documentation, including plans, specifications, and as-builts.
  • Supervising subcontractors and managing all related aspects (scheduling, work evaluation, safety compliance, submittal reviews, shop drawings, RFIs).
  • Leading the entire field crew and optimizing supplier relationships while ensuring open and professional communication.
  • Conducting daily site inspections and maintaining a job log of essential information (personnel, client visits, inspectors, architects, hazard identification, weather conditions, near misses).
  • Representing Dowbuilt professionally with clients, architects, owner's representatives, project managers, subcontractors, management, field staff, and community representatives.
  • Coordinating the delivery, handling, storage, and placement of materials (with support from foremen).
  • Training and guiding field crew members and conducting performance assessments.
  • Ensuring job site security, safeguarding all personnel, tools, and materials.

Qualifications for Success

To thrive as a Senior Superintendent at Dowbuilt, you will need:

  • A minimum of 15 years of superintendent experience, with at least 5 years in high-end, custom residential projects.
  • Experience collaborating with architects and designers to navigate design details and constructability challenges effectively.
  • A degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Journeyman-level carpentry skills.
  • Strong communication, team-building, and mentoring abilities.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of building practices and familiarity with both traditional and modern materials and methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Experience with Sage 300 CRE is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
