Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the production process operates efficiently by organizing workflows and overseeing staff performance. This role involves directing, training, and assisting production personnel while promoting a safe working environment and enforcing safety protocols. The supervisor will also focus on maintaining and enhancing production and yield standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily employee performance
  • Ensure the availability of materials to maintain a steady production flow
  • Achieve or surpass daily production targets
  • Act as a communication bridge between shifts and upper management
  • Collaborate with HR on staffing requirements
  • Maintain plant security during night shifts
  • Identify areas for operational improvement
  • Ensure all departmental equipment is maintained in coordination with the maintenance team
  • Lead the team in embodying the company’s mission

Working Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Director of Operations
  • Collaborates closely with the planning department
  • Supervises all activities during the second shift

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a production setting preferred
  • Associate degree in Business Management or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a cold and wet environment
  • Capability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Must be able to manage a production shift with minimal oversight.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly requires vision, hearing, and communication skills. Frequently requires standing, fine motor skills, and handling.
  • Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching.
  • Rarely requires climbing.
  • This position involves the use of various machines, tools, and equipment, including but not limited to: telephone, calculator, printer, copier, and computer.
