Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a seamless and efficient production process by organizing workflows and overseeing staff performance. This role involves directing, training, and assisting production personnel while promoting a safe working environment and enforcing safety protocols. Additionally, the supervisor will focus on maintaining and enhancing production and yield standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily employee performance
  • Ensure availability of materials to maintain continuous production flow
  • Achieve or surpass daily production targets
  • Serve as a communication link between shifts and upper management
  • Collaborate with HR on staffing requirements
  • Oversee plant security during night shifts
  • Identify areas for operational improvement
  • Maintain departmental equipment in coordination with the maintenance team
  • Act as a team leader, promoting the company’s mission

Working Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Director of Operations
  • Collaborates closely with the planning department
  • Supervises all activities during the second shift

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a production setting preferred
  • Associate degree in Business Management or relevant experience
  • Ability to work in a cold, wet environment
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Supervisory Duties

Responsible for supervising a production shift with minimal oversight.

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous need for vision, hearing, twisting, and verbal communication
  • Frequent requirements for standing, fine motor skills, sitting, and handling
  • Occasional needs for walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
  • Rarely requires climbing
  • Utilizes various machines, tools, and office equipment
