Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and adjust machinery based on manufacturing orders (MO) and running conditions.
  • Verify that all materials at the machine align with the MO specifications.
  • Start and monitor the extrusion machine, conducting quality checks at each winder.
  • Run qualified production once quality standards are met.
  • Continuously monitor machine settings and quality throughout the shift to maintain production standards.
  • Perform yield and weight tests during production runs for quality assurance.
  • Weigh and record finished products at designated intervals using software and spreadsheets.
  • Document and report any scrap material produced during the shift, ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) or lead personnel to verify scrap materials before disposal.
  • Maintain a clean work area, replenish supplies, and prepare the machine for the next shift.
Requirements:

Education:

High School Diploma

Skills:

  • Proficiency in quality inspection processes
  • Familiarity with using micrometers for precision measurements
  • Mechanical knowledge for equipment setup and adjustments
  • Knowledge of plastics extrusion processes
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Ability to assemble components as needed
  • Proficient in using hand tools for machine maintenance

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift objects as necessary throughout the shift. Good hand-eye coordination, basic computer skills for data entry, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this position.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek. The ideal candidate will be available to work a variety of shifts, including evening and overnight shifts.
