Job Title: Employment and Education Navigator

Cocoon House is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment and Education Navigator to join our team. As an Employment and Education Navigator, you will play a critical role in helping WIOA-eligible youth and young adults achieve their education and career goals.

Job Summary:

The Employment and Education Navigator will work one-on-one with participants to identify and navigate them to employment, education, and training pathways that lead to self-sufficiency. You will provide education and employment support that is responsive to and informed by the realities and needs of program participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a caseload of WIOA-eligible youth and young adults, providing services to meet programmatic requirements.
  • Engage in extensive mobile outreach and case management to find and engage WIOA-eligible youth.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing, Positive Youth Development, and trauma-informed best practices to engage and motivate youth and young adults.
  • Provide tailored employment services, including employment counseling, preparation, and training.
  • Assist youth in finding employment and education, including intensive assistance with the search and application process.
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure the handoff of services is successful.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes in hard files and ETO database.
  • Monitor participant goals and objectives, revising as necessary.
  • Ensure all monthly and annual goals are on track for completion.
Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Clear a background check with DCYF.
  • Possess a valid Washington State driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with youth with multiple barriers to employment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and professional experience in the employment and education fields.
  • Bi-lingual applicants strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Flexibility to adjust the schedule to meet client needs.
