Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Floor Tech to join our team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our facilities, including floors, patient areas, and ancillary spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop, and clean hard surface floors, as well as vacuum carpets and remove trash.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate floor machines, rinse extractors, floor scrubbers, and other electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Waste Management: Collect and transport biohazard and hazardous waste.
  • Support Services: Set up conference rooms, move furniture, transport beds, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to comprehend and follow hospital policies and procedures, read, write, and speak English, and demonstrate ethical behavior and professionalism.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, bend, climb, and operate heavy equipment.
