Job Overview:

This position plays a crucial role in supporting CMU and LCC operations by overseeing the local customer relationship, with the goal of enhancing the overall customer experience. The role collaborates with CST, National Sales, and Local Sales teams to ensure a positive interaction for customers.

The primary responsibility is to cultivate relationships with both new and existing accounts, dedicating up to 50% of time to this effort. The focus is on delivering exceptional customer support to Sysco clients and ensuring effective resolution of any last-mile issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage designated customers/concepts and oversee last-mile activities to guarantee timely and accurate product delivery; collaborate with Customer Success Managers handling similar concepts/customers, and work with transportation, merchandising, and contract sales teams to drive results and influence customer interactions. Communicate with back office to address customer inquiries regarding product credits, special orders, etc.
  • Collaborate with the local contract sales team to implement strategic direction and best practices via GSC; serve as a role model for excellence in practice.
  • Utilize CRM systems for effective account management, including task management, team communication, and ensuring the accuracy of customer data.
  • Build and sustain customer relationships as necessary; conduct in-person visits based on customer requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Engage in challenging discussions with both internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate escalation of issues when necessary.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of prior experience in outside foodservice account management or B2B sales.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in foodservice account management or B2B sales within the restaurant or GPO sectors.

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Sysco products, ordering processes, and credit terms.
  • Proficient in customer service management and capable of cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to manage comprehensive initiatives under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the capability to provide outstanding customer service to multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to continuous learning of existing and new Sysco technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of Sysco customers is preferred.
