Job Overview

We are in search of a skilled Culinary Services Executive Chef to lead our kitchen operations at Rittenhouse Village at Northside. This role is pivotal in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our residents, dedicating 60%-70% of time to hands-on cooking while overseeing kitchen and dining room management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and enforces food service policies, procedures, and staff roles.
  • Designs menus and meal plans that cater to cultural preferences and dietary needs, adjusting recipes for optimal yield.
  • Ensures food quality and consistency, monitoring temperatures, portion sizes, and presentation, making necessary adjustments to meet established standards.
  • Supervises kitchen staff in food preparation and presentation, ensuring adherence to prescribed cooking methods and portion sizes.
  • Engages in cooking and food preparation approximately 60-70% of the time, serving as a role model for culinary excellence.
  • Manages inventory by ordering food and supplies, verifying deliveries against purchase orders.
  • Conducts monthly inventory assessments of food items.
  • Implements regular Quality Assurance evaluations.
  • Adheres to safe and sanitary food handling practices.
  • Follows all safety and loss prevention protocols.
  • Negotiates food service contracts with suppliers.
  • Organizes and leads training and orientation programs for kitchen staff.
  • Monitors budgetary expenditures, providing explanations for significant variances.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in a culinary environment.
  • Completion of food safety training (ServSafe) is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrates leadership by instilling confidence in others and motivating team performance.

SHIFT: Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch; hours may vary based on community needs. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required based on staffing and events.
