Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Pedernales Electric Cooperative. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of our databases in production and development environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor database performance and resources to provide optimal service levels
  • Configure systems and perform database refreshes to support development, quality assurance, and training environments
  • Design, implement, test, and monitor database backup and recovery procedures
  • Maintain database security by managing user accounts and access roles
  • Assess and implement routine database maintenance as needed
  • Implement a method of retaining and reporting on long-term database performance data
  • Provide timely support for database issues and perform after-hours support as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of directly related work experience
  • Knowledge of database administration tasks and procedures
  • Skilled in scripting languages and time management
  • Ability to communicate effectively and prioritize tasks
