Job Title: Database Administrator

At Pedernales Electric Cooperative, we are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the integrity, security, and performance of our databases in production and development environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor database performance and resources to ensure optimal service levels
  • Configure systems and perform database refreshes to support development, quality assurance, and training environments
  • Design, implement, test, and monitor database backup and recovery procedures
  • Maintain database security by managing user accounts and access roles
  • Assess and implement routine database maintenance as needed
  • Implement a method of retaining and reporting on long-term database performance data
  • Function as a primary database resource for PEC projects and implementations/conversions
  • Assist in installation and maintenance of database client software
  • Assist in management and implementation of PEC business software
  • Effectively triage database issues and provide timely after-hours support as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 4 years directly related work experience
  • Knowledge of database administration tasks and procedures
  • Skilled in scripting languages
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
