Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Informix Database Administrator SME to join our team at GovCIO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in the architecture, design, implementation, support, operation, and maintenance of database management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide highly technical expertise and guidance in the architecture, design, implementation, support, operation, and maintenance of database management systems.
  • Perform data movement, troubleshoot issues, and write scripts to perform common database tasks.
  • Maintain complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection, and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
  • Perform installs, configuration, migrations, restores, and monitor the security and performance of the systems.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support. Prepare and deliver presentations on DBMS concepts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience or commensurate experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of the job.
  • Complete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and its application.
  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Works under only general direction.
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.
  • Strong Informix analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated Informix configuration and administration experience.
  • Demonstrated Informix performance tuning experience.
  • Demonstrated Informix backup and data recovery experience.
  • Basic scripting skills.
  • Clearance Required: Ability to acquire and maintain Public Trust.
