The San Francisco office is expanding, currently comprising approximately 55 attorneys and 35 legal support personnel. *This role offers a remote/hybrid work arrangement, with an expectation of in-office presence as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist a group of attorneys specializing in toxic tort litigation, including cases related to talc, silicosis, and asbestos.
  • Prepare fundamental legal documents, correspondence, and court filings, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Manage documents received from e-service vendors, including downloading, saving, and distributing case materials, as well as scheduling important events.
  • Oversee the team's appearance calendar utilizing Outlook and eDockets.
  • Coordinate hearings, depositions, court appearances, virtual meetings, and other related events.
  • File and serve documents in various court systems, including state, federal, and appellate courts.
  • Handle vendor invoices and address billing inquiries.
  • Process check requests and reimbursements.
  • Assist with travel arrangements and conference planning.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in toxic tort litigation.
  • At least two years of experience in a dynamic law office environment.
  • Proficiency in filing complex motions and transactions through e-filing systems.
  • Basic understanding of court rules at state, federal, and local levels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation process and deadline management.
  • Ability to effectively manage and analyze extensive court calendaring data.

Technical Skills:
1) Experience with automated docket and calendar systems (E-Dockets, Compulaw) and the ability to utilize court rules and dockets effectively.
2) Familiarity with court filing systems, specifically File & ServeXpress.
3) Experience with document management databases such as iManage.
4) Proficient in Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Outlook, Excel) and PDF editing software.
5) Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
6) Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment supporting multiple attorneys.
7) Excellent organizational capabilities.
8) Strong customer service and communication skills.
9) Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
10) Ability to perform duties with professionalism, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.

A variety of factors are considered in determining compensation, including experience, education, licensure, geographic location, market demands, and other organizational needs. The anticipated salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000. This position is full-time and qualifies for benefits including a 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
