Job Description:

The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for ensuring a smooth and successful fulfillment of the contract after the design phase. This role requires a strong construction site superintendent with experience in both HVAC/mechanical systems and commercial construction, as well as excellent communication skills.

The Construction Site Superintendent will lead a team of administrative staff, construction site superintendents, engineers, design team members, and other team members as needed. During heavy construction, the Construction Site Superintendent will be on-site at all times. During other project periods, the Construction Site Superintendent may not have to be on the construction site every day and may work at the office or remotely to assist with other projects not in the heavy construction period.

The Construction Site Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing project drawings for scope, constructability, and cost savings
  • Assisting with pre-construction walkthroughs and subcontractor selection
  • Developing construction schedules and managing subs to hit required milestones on schedule
  • Developing project safety binders and reviewing with subcontractors
  • Administering safety programs
  • Assisting with managing equipment lead times
  • Ordering construction-related items (dumpsters, storage, etc.)
  • Leading construction review meetings
  • Preparing weekly field reports documenting progress for the Owner
  • Assisting with commissioning efforts
  • Registering applicable equipment for warranties
  • Scheduling factory start-ups and ensuring start-up sheets are filled out and submitted as required for warranties
  • Owner training scheduling, coordination, etc.
  • Project punch lists
  • Addressing project issues
  • Helping resolve warranty issues as needed
  • Developing O&M manuals and as-builts
