Job Title: Assistant General Manager Aquatics

At Gilbride Management Group (GMG), we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager Aquatics to oversee the quality and success of our Goldfish Swim School. This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 40 hours per week, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and control daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Assist the General Manager and department managers in fulfilling all daily tasks.
  • Manage staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Oversee employee engagement to maintain a high level of employee satisfaction and company culture.
  • Develop and implement training programs to provide superior swim instruction in accordance with GSS standards.
  • Interact with wet side staff on operational items, including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot proper pool chemistry and pump room operation.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and experience in GSS pool operations to ensure a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of teachers and trainees.
  • Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff.
  • Assist in managing social media, booking water safety presentations, and building partnerships with local businesses.
  • Oversee monitoring of email, voice messages, and social media to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required.
  • Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard Instructor certifications required.
Work Environment:

This position requires regular exposure to heat and humidity. The noise level is usually moderate.
