The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of communication strategies, media planning, and brand development, with the ability to navigate both traditional and digital media landscapes with confidence and expertise.

You will report directly to the Vice President of Client Solutions and Strategic Planning.

Client-Specific Requirements: This role demands an innovative mindset with a profound understanding of Performance Marketing (including Paid Search and Paid Social), SEO, and Brand Media through established branding channels. Experience with Direct Partnerships (with publishers), Programmatic buying (including Display, OLV/CTV, rich media, and OOH), and the ability to collaborate across various teams (media, analytics, media technology, SEO, etc.) is crucial for maintaining an overview of all ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities

Media Strategy and Implementation

  • Guide the formulation of planning objectives and strategies that align with the client's marketing goals, collaborating closely with media teams.
  • Lead the client team to achieve these objectives, mentoring team members to meet expectations at their respective levels.
  • Analyze research data to provide insights and thought leadership that translate brand marketing goals into effective media strategies.
  • Explore and apply new techniques and technologies relevant to both traditional and digital media strategies for clients.
  • Oversee performance analysis and testing, engaging in discussions with clients and internal teams about strategic implications.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling to existing clients, including the ability to promote agency services and anticipate future opportunities.
  • Share industry insights on media, market trends, and related dynamics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the media community, fostering partnerships for idea exchange.
  • Contribute case studies to the broader organization.
  • Participate in agency new business initiatives and presentations as necessary.
  • Establish negotiation strategies for annual client contracts and supplemental proposals, managing account profitability in collaboration with leadership.

Client & Internal Relations

  • Manage senior client expectations and deliverables effectively.
  • Build and secure relationships with key senior clients to enhance agency partnerships.
  • Advocate for the client's perspective during project reviews, leveraging this viewpoint when providing feedback to the team and presenting to clients.
  • Represent the agency within the industry by attending relevant functions and participating in local market committees.

Strategic Leadership & Insight

  • Exhibit a deep understanding of client brands, brand equity, consumer profiles, and motivations.
  • Contextualize strategic goals within a broader business framework.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives, collaborating with teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Utilize strong analytical and strategic skills to address client business challenges.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, media developments, and relevant tools.
  • Manage staffing needs within assigned groups, coordinating with leadership to ensure consistency across the Integrated Media organization.
  • Train, motivate, and develop team members while managing resource utilization effectively.

Qualifications

  • At least 12 years of experience in media planning.
  • Progressive experience in client management.
  • A minimum of 4 years in account leadership for a retail-focused client.
  • At least 6 years of experience with a Paid Search account.
  • Current knowledge of trends and innovations in media, retail, and luxury sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Communications Planning.
  • Hands-on experience with Paid Search/Shopping, Programmatic, Paid Social, mobile, and media technology solutions.
  • Understanding of traditional media, including broadcast and OOH, along with performance media principles.
  • Experience with various communication channels and their roles in brand marketing.
  • Familiarity with the client's business environment and agency service models.

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $136,000 - $219,650 per year. Salary is determined by various factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other legally permissible factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary incentive compensation, which may change.
