Position Overview:

Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists is seeking a dedicated Front Desk Coordinator to enhance our operational efficiency. This role is essential in supporting our patient care initiatives and ensuring a seamless experience for those we serve.

Texas Colon & Rectal Specialists operates as a specialized division within Texas Oncology, focusing on advanced treatments for colon and rectal conditions. We pride ourselves on being one of the largest groups of colorectal care specialists in the nation, committed to delivering compassionate and cutting-edge healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Front Desk Coordinator, you will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks that contribute to the overall patient experience, including:

  • Managing front office operations and facilitating patient flow.
  • Handling incoming calls, directing inquiries appropriately, and addressing patient concerns.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date physician and clinic schedules.
  • Inputting patient insurance and demographic data into the accounting system.
  • Ensuring that historical medical records are properly scanned into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Reviewing patient balances and insurance coverage to assess financial responsibilities.
  • Completing check-out procedures, including scheduling follow-up appointments and providing educational materials.
  • Reconciling daily receipts and ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Creating office-based claims and confirming referral statuses.
  • Assisting with in-office procedure precertifications.
  • Maintaining the Workflow dashboard to track missing documentation and no-shows.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Familiarity with patient registration and insurance verification processes.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation for accurate data entry.
  • Experience with office equipment, including computers, copiers, and multi-line phones.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to various front office responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to follow instructions and maintain effective relationships with patients and colleagues.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include:
  • Full range of motion for patient handling and office tasks.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
