Job Overview:

As the Quality & Manufacturing Engineering Manager at AMETEK, Inc., you will spearhead the enhancement of our quality assurance and manufacturing engineering functions, concentrating on product excellence, process optimization, and adherence to regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Supervise the creation, execution, and upkeep of quality control systems in alignment with ISO 9001 standards. Ensure products consistently meet or surpass quality expectations and regulatory guidelines, leading initiatives to identify and rectify quality challenges while fostering continuous enhancement in product quality.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: Direct and oversee the manufacturing engineering division to refine production processes. Propel the development and application of engineering solutions that enhance manufacturing efficiency, minimize costs, and facilitate new product launches.
  • Process Improvement: Take ownership of and drive process enhancements that elevate product quality, reduce waste, and boost overall manufacturing efficiency. Utilize the expertise of the Quality Engineer, Quality Inspector, and Manufacturing Engineer to identify and apply best practices.
  • Team Leadership: Directly manage a team comprising a Quality Engineer, a Quality Inspector, and a Manufacturing Engineer. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management to cultivate a collaborative, high-performance work culture.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead inquiries into product defects, process irregularities, and production challenges. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to avert recurrence and enhance overall process reliability.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all quality and manufacturing engineering activities adhere to ISO 9001 standards and other pertinent industry regulations. Maintain precise and comprehensive documentation of processes, inspections, testing, and engineering modifications.
  • Customer Focus: Serve as the primary liaison for customer quality concerns and engineering-related inquiries. Proactively address and resolve issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering strong relationships.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Develop and sustain metrics to monitor quality and manufacturing performance. Regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, promoting data-driven decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, and other departments to align quality and engineering objectives with broader business goals. Advocate for a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence throughout the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, or a combination of both within a manufacturing context, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience with ISO 9001 standards, encompassing the development and maintenance of quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives, with a history of driving successful process enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis, RCCA, CAPA, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in engineering and quality management software and tools. Experience with QT9 is preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities with a proven track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt swiftly to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and adjust to evolving demands.
