About the Role

Civil & Environmental Consultants is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Civil Engineer to lead our Civil/Site Practice. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for driving the growth and development of our practice, both locally and regionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with clients, prospects, and industry professionals to drive business growth.
  • Guide the technical excellence of projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and review proposals and project budgets, managing and mentoring a team of engineers and project managers.
  • Perform final quality control and assurance, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Lead a team of engineers and project managers through multi-faceted civil engineering projects and business development initiatives.
  • Assist in recruiting and professional development of staff, including annual reviews and development goals.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in site layout, grading, stormwater management, and site utility design.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree, with professional registration in Massachusetts or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • Established client base and relationships with industry professionals and regulators.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing a consulting engineering team.
  • Experience with private-sector projects, including commercial land development, renewable energy, industrial/manufacturing development, and public-sector projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership roles within professional industry groups.
  • In-depth understanding of local and state land development regulations and processes.
  • A portfolio or list of past projects outlining key design elements and your role in the projects.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, provide effective mentoring, and build team morale.
