Job Overview:
As the Quality & Manufacturing Engineering Manager at AMETEK, Inc., you will spearhead the enhancement of our quality assurance and manufacturing engineering functions. This role emphasizes product excellence, process optimization, and adherence to regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance: Direct the establishment, execution, and upkeep of quality control systems in alignment with ISO 9001 standards. Ensure that products consistently meet or surpass quality benchmarks and regulatory mandates, leading initiatives to identify and rectify quality challenges while fostering continuous improvement.
- Manufacturing Engineering: Oversee and enhance the manufacturing engineering sector to streamline production workflows. Champion the creation and application of engineering solutions that boost manufacturing efficiency, lower expenses, and facilitate new product launches.
- Process Enhancement: Take ownership of process enhancements that elevate product quality, minimize waste, and bolster overall manufacturing productivity. Utilize the expertise of your team, including Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers, to pinpoint and implement best practices.
- Team Leadership: Supervise a dedicated team comprising Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to cultivate a collaborative and high-achieving work atmosphere.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead thorough investigations into product defects, process anomalies, and production challenges. Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to avert recurrence and enhance overall process dependability.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all quality and manufacturing engineering activities adhere to ISO 9001 standards and other pertinent industry regulations. Maintain precise and comprehensive documentation of processes, inspections, testing, and engineering modifications.
- Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison for customer quality inquiries and engineering-related issues. Proactively resolve concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering robust relationships.
- Reporting & Metrics: Develop and sustain metrics to monitor quality and manufacturing performance. Regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, promoting data-driven decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, and other departments to align quality and engineering objectives with broader business goals. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, or a combination of both within a manufacturing setting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience with ISO 9001 standards, including the development and maintenance of quality management systems.
- Demonstrated success in Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives, with a history of driving effective process enhancements.
- Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, RCCA, CAPA, and process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in engineering and quality management software and tools.
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a proven track record of cultivating high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to evolving demands.
