Automation Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team at the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the programming, configuration, and testing of automation-related systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop fully functional and integrated control logic, control loops, and operator interfaces using PLCs and HMI programs, databases, displays, and communications in compliance with the District's Operation and Maintenance standards.
- Proactively identify beneficial process control improvements, tune control loops to improve equipment operation, and assist on process control-related projects.
- Assist contractors with new software and hardware implementation and licensing upgrades.
- Utilize continuous improvement activities to improve department efficiency.
- Ensure the automation systems meet project goals and automation standards.
- Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related STEM field.
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as outlined in the Education Equivalencies Policy.
- Candidate must possess one (1) year of experience in automation or a related field.
- Knowledge of the Rockwell Automation control platform and Wonderware is preferred.
The Automation Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering high-quality results. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
The Automation Engineer will be required to work in a variety of settings, including the office and in the field. The position may require occasional travel to meet with contractors and other stakeholders.
The Automation Engineer will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with colleagues, contractors, and other stakeholders.
