Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing patients for surgery through thorough evaluations, history taking, physical examinations, and medical clearances.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, CAT scans, EMGs, blood tests, wound cultures, and referring patients to other specialists when necessary.
  • Prescribing medications, including narcotics, and adjusting them according to established protocols or instructions from supervising physicians.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient interactions, procedures, and treatments.
  • Providing patient and family education on pre-operative and post-operative care, health promotion, and disease prevention activities.
