Job Overview

The Operations and Security Executive collaborates closely with the Site Director and the Director of Social Services to ensure the comprehensive operational integrity, safety, and maintenance of the facility. This role is pivotal in cross-training the Operations and Security Teams to enhance their understanding of their respective job functions.

Key Responsibilities:

The Operations and Security Executive is accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the operational management of fellow Directors.
  • Staff Supervision: Directly supervise facility personnel and external vendors.
  • Goal Alignment: Collaborate with the Site Director to meet objectives as per contractual commitments.
  • Program Reporting: Work with senior management on initial and renewal programmatic reports and proposals.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate procurement, control, and expenditure processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA, DHS, and OTDA regulations, including Universal Precautions Policies.
  • Resource Allocation: Identify and assign adequate resources to projects to ensure effective program execution.
  • Crisis Management: Provide 24/7 crisis intervention for all operational systems.
  • Operational Strategy: Develop and implement operational goals, objectives, and procedural changes.
  • Data Management: Oversee the collection and reporting of operational data.
  • Facility Maintenance: Manage inventory and supply needs, overseeing the purchasing process.
  • Contract Negotiation: Prepare and negotiate service contracts and lease agreements.
  • Labor Relations: Interface with labor entities to foster positive relations.
  • Vendor Coordination: Solicit bids for all operations-related work.
  • Inspection Oversight: Conduct monthly inspections of facilities and major systems.
  • License Management: Ensure all operational licenses and certifications are current and valid.
  • Compliance Coordination: Certify adherence to building codes and industry standards.
  • Team Development: Recruit, supervise, and evaluate management staff to ensure effective performance.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and coaching for management in various operational competencies.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay informed on new developments in safety, management, and maintenance.
  • Community Engagement: Address community groups and staff regarding available services.
Security Management:
  • Departmental Strategy: Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Personnel Supervision: Directly supervise security staff.
  • Incident Reporting: Manage data collection and reporting related to safety and security activities.
  • Emergency Response: Coordinate with emergency services as necessary.
  • Personnel Scheduling: Ensure appropriate coverage through effective scheduling.
Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant security and safety certifications are advantageous.
  • Proficient in software applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
