We are currently in search of a Facilities Maintenance Specialist who will be responsible for general upkeep and maintenance tasks within our communities. This role involves performing essential repairs and ensuring that the community grounds are well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct maintenance activities to guarantee that homes and communal areas are in optimal condition.
  • Complete assigned work orders and communicate progress to the Community Manager in a timely manner.
  • Foster positive relationships by interacting courteously with residents, potential residents, visitors, and fellow team members.
  • Utilize established protocols to identify issues and take prompt action with the approval of the Community Manager.
  • Maintain the aesthetic appeal of community grounds through regular landscaping tasks, including weeding, raking, planting, mulching, and trimming.
  • Manage waste disposal on community premises, ensuring cleanliness in common areas and resident sites.
  • Perform snow removal duties as required, utilizing appropriate equipment.
  • Notify the Community Manager or Maintenance Supervisor regarding residents who do not adhere to waste disposal guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of maintenance tools and supplies, reporting needs to the Community Manager.
  • Ensure the organization and cleanliness of storage and garage areas.
  • Maintain all maintenance equipment in good working order.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations to minimize accidents and protect residents and team members.
  • Carry out seasonal maintenance tasks as scheduled.
  • Be available for on-call responsibilities as necessary.
  • Assist in the refurbishment of community-owned homes.
  • Handle repairs and maintenance of community water and sewer systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in maintenance is preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Proficient knowledge in plumbing, electrical systems, appliance repair, HVAC, and carpentry is necessary.
  • Personal tools may be required.
  • Physical ability to bend, stretch, twist, and walk continuously, including accessing confined spaces.
  • Capability to operate maintenance and other relevant equipment.
  • Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work with various chemical substances.
