Position Overview

As a Dietitian, your role will involve evaluating dietary requirements, food restrictions, and existing health strategies to create and execute personalized nutrition plans while offering dietary guidance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Supervise food service operations to ensure adherence to nutritional standards and safety protocols.
  • Evaluate dietary needs, food restrictions, and current health strategies to formulate and implement tailored nutrition plans and provide dietary guidance.
  • Counsel patients and staff on nutritional principles, meal planning, dietary adjustments, and food selection and preparation.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals to assess nutritional needs and dietary restrictions of patients.
  • Document dietary histories, assessments, charts, and progress notes.

Qualifications Required

  • In-depth knowledge of modern dietetics principles, techniques, and terminology acquired through experience.
  • Familiarity with contemporary methods, materials, and equipment utilized in large-scale food service and the necessary care to conserve resources.
  • Capability to design menus and supervise staff in the preparation and service of modified and standard diets.
  • Proficiency in conducting training programs related to food service and/or nutrition.
  • Ability to engage with treatment teams, medical, and administrative personnel as well as patients.
  • Optional: Registration as a dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an inpatient facility, particularly in mental health, behavioral, or substance misuse settings.
  • Registered dietitian credentials from the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA and other applicable standards.
  • Sedentary work involving prolonged sitting or remaining stationary, with occasional movement around the office for meetings.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
