Job Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Expert to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical nutrition care to patients and clients, working closely with healthcare professionals to develop personalized nutrition plans and ensure the highest quality service standards.


Responsibilities:
  • Deliver customer-focused, cost-effective nutritional care, maintaining high service standards for members.
  • Conduct thorough nutritional screenings and assessments to identify appropriate intervention opportunities.
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop individualized nutrition care plans based on patients' age, sex, diagnosis, cultural background, pain level, preferences, and religious practices.
  • Ensure patient menus or supplemental feedings meet nutritional requirements and physicians' orders, considering factors like size, age, gender, cultural backgrounds, preferences, diagnosis, pain level, and religious practices.
  • Develop personalized meal plans tailored to members' lifestyles.
  • Document patient information in medical records as necessary.
  • Coordinate activities with the food service department to guarantee the quality and accuracy of food served to patients.
  • Verify the accuracy of the tray related to MNT or diet orders according to the diet manual.
  • Monitor the quality of products and take corrective action, working with managers, staff, or vendors as needed.
  • Develop assessments, implement nutrition care plans, and track patient progress according to protocol.
  • Participate in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality, cost-effective food and clinical nutrition programs, ensuring compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate in setting nutrition care and service standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality, service, and performance improvement processes related to clinical nutrition services.
  • Support the overall cost structure and service improvement goals of the Service Area.
  • Conduct quality assurance audits and participate in committees and meetings to receive and report information.

Requirements:

  • Must have six months of experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian.
  • For working in End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), at least one year of experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian is required.
  • Current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived per the National Agreement.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Food and/or Nutritional Science.
  • License, Certification, Registration:
    • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
    • Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
