Job Summary

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center, a leading provider of quality care for Virginia's Veterans, is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our team. As a key member of our clinical nutrition department, you will be responsible for assessing the nutrition needs of our residents and utilizing MDS 3.0 to ensure the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the clinical nutrition care of all assigned residents
  • Evaluate and update diets to maintain quality and liberalization
  • Assess the nutritional needs of residents, approve nutritionally balanced menus, and plan as needed
  • Complete required assessments/documentation, monitoring, and charting on high-risk residents
  • Attend care plan meetings and ensure conformance to nutritional and quality standards
  • Visit with residents regarding menus, food service, food preferences, and nutritional care, making recommendations to address nutrition issues
  • Provide nutritional consultation to residents as requested by the nursing department or physicians
  • Provide education to residents, family members, and staff as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in nutritional sciences, dietetics, human nutrition, or a related field
  • Registered Dietitian Credentials strongly preferred
  • CDM or Dietary Tech certification preferred
  • Experience creating care plans preferred
  • Experience with MDS 3.0 or Point Click Care preferred
  • 1 year clinical experience in an acute or long-term care setting strongly preferred
