Job Summary:

The primary role of the Banquet Server is to engage with guests and ensure they enjoy a remarkable experience during their dining and event occasions. This position is responsible for fostering positive guest interactions while serving in a friendly and efficient manner. Special Events Food Servers are expected to be attentive to guest needs, ensuring they feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued.

The Banquet Server will be tasked with the proper and timely setup and execution of banquet events. Responsibilities include arranging tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, and audio-visual equipment. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and ensuring all equipment and facilities are organized, clean, and safe is essential. This role involves serving and clearing tables, as well as breaking down banquet rooms post-event.

Pay: $22.00 / hour

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Transport food and carry trays to event locations.
  • Prepare event setups (including draping tables, arranging silverware, folding napkins, preparing beverages, and placing table centerpieces).
  • Communicate any guest needs, issues, or concerns to the Banquet Manager or Captain as necessary.
  • Maintain readiness of rooms for potential site inspections and reset meeting rooms for upcoming events.
  • Keep track of all equipment inventory and ensure proper storage.
  • Deliver a 5-star experience to all guests.
  • Serve and pour wine at the table side appropriately.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as directed by a supervisor.
  • Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate salutation.
  • Consistently adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Understand and effectively communicate the products and services available at The Odyssey.
  • Serve and clear food from tables efficiently.
  • Anticipate guests' needs without being intrusive.
  • Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and restaurant policies.
  • Wear approved slip-resistant shoes at all times while on duty.
  • Participate in and successfully complete alcohol awareness and safety training.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Travel Requirements:
  • No travel required.
Physical Demands:
  • Medium strength demands, including lifting 10-30 pounds.
  • Walking and standing for 6-8 hour shifts.
