The Senior Accountant, GL will play a crucial role in supporting the monthly close process, analyzing and reconciling GL accounts, and participating in assigned audit responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper capitalization of fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Enter all information into fixed accounting software and prepare monthly capitalization and depreciation entries for the general ledger.
  • Prepare the monthly Fixed Asset Rollforward.
  • Complete annual or quarterly impairment review.
  • Annual OC Property tax return.
  • Audit assistance for the annual external financial statement audit and any governmental agencies.
  • Prepare quarterly/annual government reporting.
  • Complete intercompany billings for EU sales and intercompany cross charges.
  • Complete monthly review of European subsidiaries ensuring proper accruals, AP payments, request for funding and commercial sales billing.
  • Complete monthly fluctuation analysis for SG&A cost centers.
  • Record monthly accruals for SG&A and R&D cost centers as assigned.
  • Record month end close payroll entries and reconcile GL accounts.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
  • Support the administration of the department's Close software and the company's requisition system.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues.
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.

Requirements:
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good phone skills and ability to interact well with others.
  • Presentation of self in a professional manner.
  • Minimal supervision required.

Education, Experience, and Training:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years' Accounting experience, including at least two in Public Accounting.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work professionally with all levels of management.
