This role involves managing medical billing processes within a Physician Practice. A critical aspect of this position is the efficient and timely follow-up on overdue and denied accounts from third-party payers. The primary responsibility is to secure revenue for services rendered by Physicians at Albany Medical Center through the completion of appeals, phone communications, and thorough account reviews.

Salary Range: $23.00

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in customer service is essential.
  • Prior experience in phone-based customer service is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in office applications, including Excel and Word, is required.
  • Familiarity with payer websites is necessary.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills are important.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review charges and data for accuracy, addressing discrepancies related to CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes with insurance companies.
  • Validate and correct registration and insurance details, ensuring proper claim submissions.
  • Research and interpret information to effectively reconcile accounts.
  • Understand and adhere to payer policy guidelines concerning billing.
  • Follow internal protocols for accurate account assessments.
  • Meet expected production and quality benchmarks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to ensure that the knowledge and skills are adequate for fulfilling the required duties and responsibilities. The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday during the day.
