Position Summary
The Senior Aerospace Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of aero-mechanical components and systems for aircraft, including airframes, enclosures, and control surfaces. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to produce innovative designs and ensuring that all supporting functions can effectively execute their tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete development process of new UAV system components from initial concept to production.
- Enhance existing product lines through performance evaluations, documentation enhancements, and rigorous testing.
- Develop CAD models for both new and existing products.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation packages, including drawings, procedures, and specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding project challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing complex mechanical assemblies, particularly for UAVs or similar technologies.
- Proficient in UAV or flight equipment design.
- Experience with composite part design and production-quality engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with dimensioning and tolerancing of mechanical parts.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially in electrical and aircraft design.
- Experience with PDM systems, preferably SolidWorks.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
