Job Title: Professional Development Leader- Cardiac Medicine & Surgery

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Development Leader to join our team in Cardiac Medicine and Surgery. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing programs for staff development, education, research, quality, and evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive professional development programs for nursing staff in Cardiac Medicine and Surgery.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Directors and other stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop targeted educational initiatives.
  • Lead evidence-based practice initiatives and promote a culture of safety and quality.
  • Provide leadership coverage for patient care and nursing practice in the absence of a Nurse Director.
  • Participate in hiring, evaluations, discipline, corrective action plans, and workplace investigations.
  • Conduct annual and ongoing evaluation of nurses, patient care assistants, emergency services assistants, and medical assistants.
Requirements:
  • MSN or MS with a major in Nursing or DNP or PhD with a major in Nursing or a BSN with a Master's degree in a related field.
  • Specialty certification in Cardiac Medicine and Surgery required.
  • Current Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Cardiovascular/Vascular nursing experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Expertise in evidence-based practice, writing, research, and practice development.
  • Expert critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with the BWH professional community at large.
