Job Title: Building Engineer for EMCOR Group at Stanford Health Care in the Peninsula / Palo Alto area, CA.

Job Summary:

EMCOR Group has an immediate need for a Building Engineer on the Stanford Medicine project in the Peninsula / Palo Alto, CA area.

This role is responsible for the operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of building-related mechanical, electrical, control systems, plumbing, air handling units, pumps, heat exchangers, expansion joints, and other building mechanical systems. The successful candidate will receive and respond to service calls, take immediate action to resolve emergency situations or system breakdowns, and perform routine operation and inspection of emergency generators, UPS, and associated components.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of all related mechanical, electrical, control systems, air handling units, pumps, motors, heat exchangers, and expansion joints.

Install electrical circuits and repair all restroom fixtures, sweat/braze copper pipe.

Perform minor electrical tasks, including bulb and ballast replacement, and replace ceiling tiles, repair or replace door hardware, locks, panic bars, etc.

Routine operation and inspection of emergency generators, UPS, and associated components, and request necessary materials to complete required repairs.

Perform routine and preventive maintenance duties, including filter changes, belts, lubrication, control, and performance checks of building systems and equipment.

Inspect mechanical, electrical systems, trace electrical circuits, operate switch-gear, record inspections, and write reports to supervisors.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the operation of central building equipment, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and/or electronic systems.

Experience and proven ability to repair building electrical, plumbing, and HVAC auxiliary systems, safely secure hydronic and electrical systems for maintenance, and braze/solder copper pipe, thread black pipe.

Basic carpentry skills and strong knowledge of operation of building auxiliary systems, including fire-life safety, standby emergency generators, UPS systems, and familiarity of general building systems, including vertical lift equipment, overhead doors.

Ability to write, execute written and oral instructions, and perform arithmetic calculations, and strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical for maintenance operations.

Ability to safely wear a respirator, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, lift heavy objects, and perform other physically demanding tasks safely and skillfully use all types of related hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements:

In an 8-hour day, must be able to continually bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand, and walk; use hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and single grasp motion; and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and move objects in excess of 100 pounds, and travel by government or company vehicle to work location or to other destinations as required.

Compensation Range: $50/hr. - $60/hr.

Other Compensation: this is not bonus or commission applicable
