Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Strategist to join our team at HDJ & Associates, Inc. as a key member of our senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that align with our organization's mission, goals, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Financial Management: Manage all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, grants management, and compliance.
  • Grants and Fund Management: Monitor and manage grants and funding, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and/or restrictions and accurate financial reporting.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and develop the finance and operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Implement and maintain internal controls to protect organizational assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary financial liaison to the board of directors, finance committee, and other key stakeholders.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least five years in a senior leadership position within the nonprofit sector.
  • Prefer experience with organization of minimum $5 million annual budget or larger.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and financial management.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including nonprofit accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements for nonprofits.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
