Children's Specialty Group, a physician-led private practice, seeks a Section Chief of Inpatient Psychiatry to oversee clinical care at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. This prestigious position offers a faculty appointment at Eastern Virginia Medical School and the opportunity to shape the future of pediatric mental health care.


About the Position

The ideal candidate is charismatic and impactful, with experience managing and designing inpatient psychiatric programs. This leadership role involves directing clinical care and administrative duties, such as program development, teaching, and quality improvement. The Section Chief will oversee a multidisciplinary team of child psychiatrists, pediatricians, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners.


Responsibilities

  • Direct clinical care and administrative duties, including program development and quality improvement
  • Oversee the 60-bed inpatient unit and manage up to four medical directors
  • Identify growth strategies for inpatient services and work closely with CHKD's nursing director
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows at Eastern Virginia Medical School
