Pediatric Care Specialist

The Child Life Specialist plays a vital role in providing emotional, educational, and developmental support to children and their families during hospitalization. This position requires a strong understanding of child development and the ability to create a nurturing environment that promotes optimal growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emotional support and guidance to children and their families to minimize stress and anxiety related to hospitalization.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to address the unique needs of each patient and family.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Supervise Child Life interns and provide guidance and mentorship.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in child life and pediatric care.
- Master's degree in Child Life or related field.
- Successful completion of a 600-hour pediatric Child Life internship.
- Certification in Child Life within one year of hire and maintenance of certification.
- Experience in a pediatric healthcare setting preferred.
This position requires frequent exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the performance of certain patient care activities.
