Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Body Shop Estimator to join our team. As a Body Shop Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing damaged vehicles, estimating repair costs, and communicating with customers and technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Assess damaged vehicles to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
  • Estimate the cost of labor and parts to repair or replace damaged items.
  • Determine the feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.
  • Evaluate the practicality of repair versus payment of vehicle market value before the accident.
  • Determine the salvage value of total vehicle loss.
  • Prepare insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
  • Estimate the cost of repairing, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
  • Review the completed vehicle to check quality and thoroughness.
Requirements
  • A self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in auto body work and repairs is required.
  • I-Car certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.
  • Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug test.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

The Body Shop Estimator may be required to stand for long periods, sit for long periods, walk with customers and team members, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The work environment varies, but often is an office setting and working in a car showroom. The Body Shop Estimator will be required to walk the dealership property and may encounter inclement weather.
