AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES SUPERVISOR

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time

SALARY RANGE: $44,200 - $52,000 with Comprehensive Benefits

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Competitive Civil Service

LOCATION: TST BOCES Campus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts a range of maintenance and repair tasks on various vehicles including buses, cars, trucks, and specialized machinery.
  • Organizes and schedules maintenance activities to ensure timely servicing of all vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical systems, engines, and mechanical components.
  • Performs replacement and repairs on critical vehicle parts such as axles, transmissions, and brake systems.
  • Executes minor welding tasks and bodywork as needed.
  • Maintains vehicle aesthetics through painting and interior repairs.
  • Adjusts and aligns steering systems and wheels for optimal performance.
  • Keeps detailed records of maintenance activities and inventory of parts.
  • May conduct extensive engine overhauls when necessary.
  • Possesses the ability to operate a school bus as required.
  • Supervises and guides the work of automotive mechanics.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a certified automotive technician, or
  • Seven years of experience in a skilled automotive mechanic role.
  • Physical fitness appropriate for the demands of the position.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid New York State Driver's License.
