About the Role:
Otak, Inc. is looking for a highly skilled Senior Hydraulics Project Engineer to contribute to our Water and Natural Resources division. This role is pivotal in driving various project initiatives that encompass bridge and culvert hydraulics, floodplain management, stream and river restoration, as well as fish passage projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional technical expertise in bridge hydraulics, scour countermeasures, river dynamics, sediment transport, and floodplain management.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support project development.
- Draft construction documents for transportation-related projects.
- Generate construction drawings, specifications, and cost assessments.
- Compile design and permitting documentation.
- Gather and evaluate data for project insights.
- Develop comprehensive studies and master plans.
- Outline technical approaches, project timelines, and budget estimates for proposals.
- Guide team members in their assigned tasks and schedules.
- Provide mentorship and assess the performance of team members.
- Oversee construction engineering and site observations.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, focusing on Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineering, is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Engineering within hydraulic engineering or a related field.
- A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Proficient in water resources modeling tools such as HEC-RAS and SRH2D.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Capable of managing multiple projects with competing deadlines in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $150,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes competitive salaries, performance bonuses, comprehensive health insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with immediate vesting, a hybrid work schedule, and generous Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual based on industry experience.
