Job Title: Senior Hydraulics Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulics Project Engineer to join our Water and Natural Resources team in Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide technical excellence and thought leadership in bridge hydraulics scour countermeasure design, river mechanics, channel stability, sediment transport, and floodplain permitting. They will perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, conduct design calculations, prepare construction documents, and create design and permitting reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise in hydraulic engineering and project management
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS and SRH2D
  • Conduct design calculations and prepare construction documents
  • Create design and permitting reports
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Prepare studies and master plans
  • Prepare technical approaches/scope, schedule, and budgets for proposals
  • Mentor and evaluate team members' work
  • Perform construction engineering and observation
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of Project Engineering experience in hydraulic engineering or related field
  • Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Adept with the application of water resources models such as HEC-RAS and SRH2D
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple projects with simultaneous deadlines in a multi-discipline environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
