Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring thorough completion of medical histories and obtaining vital signs.
  • Administer injections, assist with splinting, and apply dressings as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Ensure the sterilization of instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
  • Conduct CLIA Waived tests as instructed, maintaining quality control for all tests performed.
  • Perform phlebotomy duties as required.
  • Manage inventory by ordering and maintaining necessary medical supplies.
  • Execute general receptionist tasks as needed, including:
    • Verifying and updating patient information in the management system.
    • Collecting co-pays and managing financial transactions accurately.
    • Answering phone calls promptly and courteously, taking messages and providing information as necessary.
    • Assembling and updating patient medical records.
    • Completing referrals and pre-certifications as required.
    • Processing requests for medical records in an appropriate manner.
    • Sorting mail and other correspondence as needed.
    • Participating in mandatory training to maintain competencies and certifications.
    • Adhering to policies regarding attendance, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
  • Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants is preferred, with a requirement to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to maintain competencies specific to the patient population served.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with multi-line telephone systems and computer applications.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle financial transactions securely.

Work Environment:

Experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
